Lip Reading Classes at Mayfield School Cambridge
Wednesdays 6.45 p.m.-8.45 p.m. during school terms

We’re an informal group of lip-readers of all ages; most of us use hearing-aids. We really enjoy learning how to lip-read using light-hearted, well organised and varied exercises. Also, we acquire other techniques to manage our communication problems. Our Wednesday evenings are run by a fully qualified lip-reading teacher, helped by a few members of the group. Some attend to maintain their skills at lip-reading; others are complete beginners. If your hearing is gradually worsening, it is better to start lip-reading sooner rather than later. We all benefit hugely from being able to lip-read in a modest way.

Our programme involves 30 evening classes per year, during 3 school terms (each 10 weeks long) at Mayfield School off Histon Road, where there is free car parking.  The fee is modest. A few places are now available: enquiries to

Next year’s classes will start on Wednesday, 25th September 2019, with a break for the school’s half term. The last class of the first term will be on 4 December, 2019.
